Tour Highlights
Highlight 1: [An Exclusive Privilege Unreachable on Day Trips] Step into Serenity Once Crowds Depart! A "Lodge Stay Above the Clouds" Wrapped in Sunset-Tinted Peaks and Starlit Skies
Most travelers only spend a few hurried hours visiting the "Snow Wall" before rushing back down to the lowlands. Yet, the true majesty of Tateyama unveils itself only at twilight, when the daytime crowds have completely cleared.
On this tour, you will stay at the historic "Murodo Sanso," perched at an elevation of 2,450 meters. Boundless snowfields washed in crimson sunset, a pristine night sky spilling with countless stars in absolute silence, and a glistening silver world bathed in crisp morning light—a breathtaking, sacred realm reserved exclusively for those who stay overnight is yours to savor to your heart's content.
Highlight 2: [Immerse in the Majestic "Snow Wall" Over 2 Full Days] Beat the Crowds for an Uninterrupted Experience! Stroll Along the 20-Meter-High Snow Giants at Your Own Pace
The iconic symbol of the spring Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is the "Snow Wall" (Yuki-no-Otani). Flanking the roadway with sheer vertical mass, these colossal walls of snow boast a monumental scale seen nowhere else on earth.
With a relaxed 2-day, 1-night itinerary, you have the freedom to revisit the wall on the morning of Day 2 before daytime tourists arrive. Take your time to examine the intricate icy patterns of the snow wall or capture pristine photos without crowds in frame—a rare luxury impossible on a rushed day tour.
Highlight 3: [Like a Safari Lodge Above the Clouds] The Luxury of an Unhurried Schedule: A Slow Retreat to Embrace the Snowfields at Will, Based from Murodo Sanso
There is no need to pack your day with a hectic sightseeing checklist. Much like a safari vacation where you stay at a remote lodge and spend your downtime immersed in nature between dawn and dusk excursions, Murodo Sanso serves as your haven for a tranquil, unscripted escape.
Stroll through the untouched snow with snowshoes around the lodge, sit down on the powdery snow to sip hot tea, or simply gaze at the alpine ridgeline shifting colors with every passing hour. Embraced by the grand wilderness, surrender your body and mind to an enriching sense of calm.
Highlight 4: [A Welcoming Field Even for Snow Beginners] No Perilous Trails! A Gentle Snowscape Just a 10-Minute Walk from Murodo Terminal
You might wonder, "Isn't staying on a snowy mountain dangerous without alpine hiking experience?" Set your worries aside. The Murodo plateau is an expansive, gentle volcanic plain free from sheer precipices or treacherous rock scrambles.
From Murodo Terminal to Murodo Sanso, it is an easy ~10-minute walk through the winter wonderland. Even without specialized mountaineering skills, you can walk safely and comfortably across the soft, crisp snow. Travelers from warm climates who rarely see snow and families with children can venture into this authentic Japanese Alpine winterscape with total peace of mind.
Highlight 5: [14-Piece Pro Mountaineering Gear Set Included for Free] In Partnership with "Yamadougu Rental-ya"! Step Above the Clouds with Zero Advance Hassle
Even in late spring, Tateyama Murodo at 2,450 meters remains an authentic alpine winter world with deep snow cover. Full thermal and snow travel gear are vital for your safety and comfort.
However, purchasing snowshoes, technical boots, and cold-weather layers for a single trip would easily cost upwards of ¥100,000, not to mention the burden of hauling heavy winter equipment from overseas.
This tour partners directly with "Yamadougu Rental-ya," Japan's premier outdoor equipment rental specialist. From snowshoes and trekking poles to windproof/waterproof outerwear, professional alpine boots, fleece layers, down jackets, and goggles—all 14 hand-selected professional gear items are provided [completely free of charge].
Board our direct chartered bus from Shinjuku, and depart for Japan's snowy alpine rooftop practically hands-free.
To ensure even first-timers can fully enjoy exploring the snow plateau with absolute confidence, we provide this comprehensive 14-piece set—including snowshoes, which are typically expensive to rent—entirely free of charge. (*Estimated retail purchase value: Over ¥100,000)
