Tour Highlights
Point 1: Avoid the Crowds with Our Beginner-Friendly "Prince Route" Arrangement
The Gotemba Route is known as the quietest of the four trails on Mt. Fuji. However, starting from the 5th Station is typically for advanced hikers and can be extremely difficult for beginners. That’s why this tour utilizes the "Prince Route." Starting from the Fujinomiya 5th Station and crossing over to the Gotemba Route via the Hoei Crater, this path was famously taken by the current Emperor (while he was Crown Prince) to enjoy a peaceful climb—it’s truly the "best of both worlds" route.
Furthermore, our tour adds a special twist. While the standard Prince Route uses the "Osuna-bashiri" (Great Sand Run) for the descent, this can be incredibly taxing on the knees and legs when you're already tired, making it less ideal for beginners. Based on feedback from our guides and past participants, we have arranged a "Beginner-First" descent that returns via the Fujinomiya Route—the same way you came up—for a smoother experience.
For beginners who want to avoid crowds without compromising on safety and ease of walking, this is a one-of-a-kind specially designed route.
Point 2: 【Join from 27 Airports Nationwide】 No Pre-night Stay Needed with a 9:45 AM Haneda Departure!
"I want to climb Mt. Fuji, but I live too far away and can't afford an extra night in Tokyo..." If this sounds like you, we have great news! We designed this tour around a 9:45 AM departure from Haneda Airport specifically so people from all over Japan can experience the peaceful Prince Route. This schedule allows travelers from 27 airports nationwide to fly in and start the tour on the same day via the earliest morning flights.
By taking a flight that arrives at Haneda by 9:20 AM, you save both the cost and time of an overnight stay. On the return trip, catching a flight departing Haneda at 7:00 PM (19:00) or later allows you to be home the same night. You can complete your Mt. Fuji adventure in just a weekend. We’ve made it easy for anyone in Japan to fulfill their dream of standing on the nation’s highest peak.
■ Flexible Pick-up and Drop-off Locations!
For added convenience, you can mix and match your locations, such as "Meet at Haneda Airport → Dismiss at Shinjuku" or "Meet at Shinjuku → Dismiss at Haneda Airport." For example, you can arrive via Haneda and return home via train or bus from Shinjuku. This tour is open to everyone nationwide, offering the flexibility to fit your lifestyle and travel plans.
【How to Book】
On the booking form, please enter the number of participants at your preferred bus boarding (meeting) location. If your drop-off location differs from your boarding location, simply inform our staff on the day of the tour.
■ Booking Your Own Flights is the Best Way to Save!
We recommend booking your round-trip flights to Haneda Airport yourself as early as possible through airline websites. By taking advantage of "Early Bird" discounts and combining them with this tour, you can achieve your Mt. Fuji climb at a very affordable price, even from far away.
■ Timing for Flight Bookings and Payments
The status of the tour will change from "Accepting Applications" to "Confirmed." Please keep the following in mind when arranging your flights:
- If status is "Accepting Applications":
We recommend waiting until the tour is "Confirmed" before paying for your flights. We will make the confirmation decision as early as possible, no later than 55 days before departure. - If you wish to secure flights early:
In many cases, flights can be canceled with only a 440 yen refund fee per segment up to 55 days before departure (*1). If you are concerned about price fluctuations or flights selling out, you may choose to book and pay in advance.
*1 Some promotional fares may incur cancellation fees immediately after payment. Please be sure to check the fare rules of your specific booking.
*Airports with possible same-day round trips (based on summer schedules): Hokkaido (New Chitose), Tohoku (Aomori, Akita, Shonai), Hokuriku/Chubu (Komatsu, Toyama, Chubu Centrair), Kansai (Kansai, Kobe, Itami), Chugoku (Okayama, Iwakuni, Hiroshima, Yonago, Tottori, Yamaguchi-Ube), Shikoku (Takamatsu, Matsuyama, Tokushima), Kyushu (Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Oita, Saga, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Miyazaki, Kumamoto).
*Subject to change due to flight schedule revisions. Please check your specific flight times.
■ 8:45 AM Departure from Shinjuku! A Relaxed Start for Tokyo Residents
By syncing with the Haneda group, the Shinjuku departure is now at a comfortable 8:45 AM. For those in the Tokyo metropolitan area, this means avoiding the early morning rush and having plenty of time to prepare. Whether you're coming from afar with "no pre-stay" or from Tokyo with a "relaxed start," everyone can join the group in peak condition.
Point 3: The Secret to a Higher Success Rate! Leave Extra Luggage at "Sunabashiri-kan" Hut
You will stay at "Sunabashiri-kan" (approx. 3,100m elevation), a hut known for its beginner-friendly services. The biggest advantage is that you can leave (depot) any unnecessary luggage at the hut during your summit push. By walking the most challenging part of the trail with less weight, you drastically reduce fatigue and significantly increase your chances of reaching the top.
Point 4: Warm Your Soul! A "Hot Breakfast" Served Before Descent
Sunabashiri-kan is also famous for its food. Dinner is all-you-can-eat curry! For breakfast, after returning from your summit push, we serve "hot rice, ham and eggs, and miso soup." While many tours provide cold lunch boxes, our warm meal helps "thaw out" your body from the inside after the freezing summit sunrise. It’s the perfect hospitality to help you catch your breath and descend with energy.
Point 5: Guided Trek to Japan's Highest Peak, "Kengamine" (3,776m)
Enjoy the dynamic views of the Hoei Crater on the uncrowded Prince Route. Of course, our goal is the very top of Japan. After joining the main trail, we continue upward to guide you to the summit of "Kengamine" (3,776m). Experience the view from the true "highest point in Japan"—a must-see at least once in your life.
*Depending on weather conditions, trail congestion, or participant health, the guide may decide to descend without visiting Kengamine.
Point 6: Professional Guide Included! Visit a Hot Spring After the Descent
During the climb, a professional guide will accompany you (one guide per 15 participants), managing the pace and leading you safely. After descending, the bus will stop at a hot spring facility. Since the bathing fee is not included in the tour price, you are free to spend your time as you like—whether that’s "washing away the sweat in the hot springs," "enjoying a meal and a beer," or "browsing for souvenirs."
*Bathing fees and food/drink costs are at your own expense. *The hot spring stop may be shortened or omitted depending on traffic conditions.
Point 7: Trusted Rental Gear! Introduction to Popular Mt. Fuji Rental Sets
Even in mid-summer, temperatures near the summit of Mt. Fuji can drop to near freezing. A common mistake for beginners is thinking "a down jacket is enough." Down can cause sweat-chilling and isn't ideal for active wear. For your safety, we recommend our "7-Piece Set" (9,000 yen), which includes a fleece. For those concerned about physical stamina, we also offer a "12-Piece Set" (14,000 yen). This comprehensive set includes trekking pants, performance tights, and knee supporters to reduce the strain on your legs and help you reach the top through the power of professional gear.
"Yamadougu Rental-ya" is a specialty mountain gear rental shop that has served over 400,000 customers since its opening in 2010. They boast a top-tier track record in Mt. Fuji rentals and support a wide range of climbing scenes.
They are highly regarded for their customer service, featuring no cancellation fees, no security deposits, and free size changes, making it safe and easy for first-timers.
The best part of renting? You don't have to carry dirty gear home after the descent. Plus, with shop pickup, you don't have to lug heavy gear from home—just head to the meeting point light and easy. Making preparation and the trip home easier is the real joy of renting.
Participants of this tour can access these convenient rentals at an exclusive discounted rate, significantly lower than the standard price.
