Tour Highlights
Point 1: Avoid Crowds & Beginner-Exclusive "Prince Route" Arrangement
The Gotemba Route is the quietest among the 4 main routes on Mt. Fuji. However, climbing all the way from the 5th Station on your own is designed for advanced climbers and extremely difficult for beginners. Therefore, this tour adopts the "Prince Route." Starting from the Fujinomiya 5th Station, passing through the Hoei Crater, and joining the Gotemba Route, this path was devised for the current Emperor of Japan (when he was Crown Prince) to quietly enjoy Mt. Fuji—combining the best features of both routes.
Furthermore, our tour goes one step further. The standard Prince Route uses the "Osunashiri" (Great Sand Run) for descent. However, attempting Osunashiri when physical strength is already depleted places a heavy burden on knees and legs, making it unsuitable for beginners. Reflecting feedback from guides and past participants, we customized the descent to return along the same Fujinomiya Route—a "beginner-first" itinerary.
"I want to avoid crowds, but I don't want to compromise on safety and ease of walking." This unique, special route is packed with features tailored specifically for beginners like you.
Point 2: Choose Based on Preference & Stamina! Two Famous Mountain Huts: "Akaiwa Hachigokan" & "Sunabashirikan"
Starting this season, in addition to the traditional "Akaiwa Hachigokan," its sister hut "Sunabashirikan" is also available! Whichever you stay at, you can enjoy stunning views and warm hospitality. Choose the ideal lodge according to your physical strength and climbing style.
【Which Suit You Best? Hut Selection Guide】
-
If you want to make Day 2's summit push easier: Choose "Akaiwa Hachigokan"
[Altitude: 3,300 m (7.9th Station) / Day 1: Distance 5.7 km, Total Activity Time approx. 5.5 hours]
By pushing higher on Day 1, you can significantly reduce the distance and time needed for the next morning's summit attack. -
If you want to reduce Day 1's strain and conserve stamina: Choose "Sunabashirikan"
[Altitude: 3,090 m (7.5th Station) / Day 1: Distance 4.8 km, Total Activity Time approx. 4.5 hours]
Day 1's walking time is about 1 hour shorter, making you less exhausted and reducing altitude sickness risks—a safe setting for beginners.
★ A Taste Honored by the Crown Prince! All-You-Can-Eat "Prince Curry"
For dinner, enjoy authentic handmade curry! Named "Prince Curry" after Crown Prince (now current Emperor) stayed at Akaiwa Hachigokan and enjoyed it, this traditional recipe remains beloved by climbers.
Made with 100% home-grown "Gotemba Koshihikari Rice" cultivated with care at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Enjoy as many refills as you like of this classic curry packed with vegetable sweetness and aromatic spices! (※ Served with the exact same ingredients and recipe at Sunabashirikan as well.)
★ Enjoy 360-Degree Panoramic Views & Sunset "Kage-Fuji" (Shadow of Mt. Fuji)
Both mountain huts are situated above the clouds, offering breathtaking views stretching from the Tanzawa/Hakone mountains to Suruga Bay, and even as far as Tokyo Skytree, Shinjuku, Yokohama Landmark Tower, and Enoshima! At night, a dazzling city skyline unfolds below.
In the late afternoon, witness the famous "Sunset Kage-Fuji," where Mt. Fuji's massive silhouette is projected onto the sea of clouds below. A mystical scene that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Point 3: Secret to Higher Success Rates! Leave Unnecessary Luggage at Either Hut & Summit Light
At both "Akaiwa Hachigokan" and "Sunabashirikan," you can take advantage of our complimentary service to leave unnecessary luggage behind at the hut during your summit attack. Being freed from heavy backpacks on the final steep climb—where the air is thin and fatigue reaches its peak—conserves far more energy than you might imagine.
※ Luggage storage at the hut is not available only for the August 31 departure staying at Sunabashirikan.
Reaching the peak of Japan with a light pack greatly boosts summit success rates even for first-timers. Both huts are also famous for their staff's warm hospitality and the magical beauty of "Kage-Fuji" during dinnertime.
Point 4: Warms Cold Bodies! Hospitable "Hot Breakfast" Served Before Descent
Both Akaiwa Hachigokan and Sunabashirikan are highly praised for their meals. In addition to all-you-can-eat curry for dinner, you will receive a "Hot Breakfast (Rice, Ham & Eggs, Miso Soup)" after returning from your summit push. While many tours offer cold boxed lunches, our warm meal thaws your body from the inside after the freezing cold of sunrise at the summit. It is the finest hospitality to help you refresh and descend safely.
※ Breakfast will be a bread set only for the August 31 departure (September 1 morning) at Sunabashirikan.
Point 5: Guided Tour to Japan's Highest Peak, "Kengamine (3,776 m)"

Enjoy dynamic views of the "Hoei Crater" on the uncrowded Prince Route. Naturally, our goal is the true summit of Japan. After joining the main trail, we continue upward to lead you to Japan's highest point, "Kengamine Peak (3,776 m)." Experience the breathtaking scenery from the absolute highest point in Japan at least once in your life.
※ Depending on severe weather, trail congestion, or participant health, the guide may decide to descend without visiting Kengamine Peak.
Point 6: Fully Guided Climb! Hot Spring Stop After Descent (Bathing Fee Paid Individually)

During the climb, 1 professional guide accompanies every 15 participants to manage the pace and lead you safely. After descending, we stop at a hot spring facility. Since the bathing fee is not included in the tour price, you can freely spend your time—whether soaking in the hot spring, enjoying meals or beer, or browsing for souvenirs.
※ Bathing fees, food, and drinks are paid individually. ※ The hot spring stop may be shortened or omitted depending on traffic conditions.
Point 7: Popular Mt. Fuji Gear Rental Sets from Trusted Partner "Yamarent"
Even in midsummer, temperatures near Mt. Fuji's summit drop close to freezing. A common misconception among beginners is that "a down jacket alone is enough for warmth." However, down jackets trap sweat and cause chills, making them unsuitable for wearing while hiking. For your safety, this tour recommends the Complete 7-Piece Set (¥9,000), which includes a fleece jacket. For those concerned about physical endurance, we also offer the Full Support 12-Piece Set (¥16,000). Complete with trekking pants, performance tights, and knee supporters designed for hiking to reduce strain on your legs, proper gear will strongly support your summit success.
"Yamarent" is a specialized outdoor gear rental shop that has served over 400,000 customers since opening in 2010. Boasting industry-leading experience in Mt. Fuji rentals, they also cater to a wide range of mountain activities including winter climbs, camping, and sleeping bags.
Renowned for exceptional customer service, they offer hassle-free policies for beginners, including no cancellation fees up to the day before use, no security deposits, and free size exchanges.
The greatest benefit of renting gear is that you don't have to carry dirty equipment back home after your climb. Furthermore, with in-store pickup, there is no need to haul heavy hiking gear from home, allowing you to travel light to the meeting point. Gear rental makes both preparation and your return journey completely effort-free.
Participants on this tour can enjoy these convenient rental services at exclusive discounted prices significantly lower than standard rates.
