2-Day Mt. Fuji Guided Climb via Fujinomiya Route | Choice of Mountain Huts (Shinjuku Dep. 7:30 AM)

Tour Highlights

Point 1: Why the Fujinomiya Route for Beginners? The Answer is the Remarkably Short Distance

Shortest Route

The main reason Yamatrip strongly recommends this route to beginners is that it has the shortest walking distance of all Mt. Fuji routes. The round-trip distance is only about 8.6 km (under 10 km even including Kengamine Peak), making it your greatest asset on a climb where stamina is key.

While some describe it as steep, gaining elevation quickly in a shorter amount of time actually conserves overall energy compared to routes with endlessly long, gradual slopes. Since you go up and down the same single trail, passing other hikers requires some courtesy during busy times; however, on this tour, our guide flawlessly manages the pacing and guides you through trail traffic, so you can navigate rocky terrain with confidence. On clear days, stunning panoramic views of Suruga Bay stretching out below will blow away your fatigue.

Point 2: [Which Option Suits You?] Summit Overnight vs. Smart Strategic 9.5th Station Overnight

The biggest feature of this tour is that you can choose between two mountain huts positioned most favorably for the summit push. Whichever you select, an unforgettable experience awaits.

■ [Recommended] Munatsuki Sanso (9.5th Station): The Smart, Shortest Strategic Route to Summit Success

"Climbing as high as possible on Day 1" is a golden rule for increasing your summit success rate, and this plan offers the easiest way to achieve it.
For instance, reaching the 8th Station via the Yoshida Route requires walking about 5.2 km. However, via the Fujinomiya Route—the shortest trail—you can reach the 9.5th Station (altitude 3,590 m) just below the summit by walking only about 3.8 km.
"Reach a higher elevation over a shorter distance." With this overwhelming advantage, you will have only 500 meters left to the summit on the next morning. Saving your physical energy for the final push makes this truly the smartest, shortest strategic route to the top.
【Exclusive Views & Souvenir】
Right in front of the hut lies a sweeping panorama extending to Hakone and the Izu Peninsula, and as far east as Enoshima and the Boso Peninsula. At night, enjoy spectacular night views, sea of clouds, "Kage-Fuji" (Mt. Fuji's shadow), and a sky full of stars. Furthermore, the wooden walking stick branding stamp here is the only one on Mt. Fuji that includes the exact date of your ascent (available until 5:00 PM). A branded wooden hiking stick stamped with your climb date will surely become a lifelong treasure.

■ Chojo Fujikan (Summit): Open the Door to Sunrise! A Premium Overnight Stay at Japan's Highest Point

A truly special experience reserved exclusively for those who choose to stay at the summit. Spend a night at 3,712 meters above sea level, the closest place to the sky in Japan. At night, a starlit sky so dense it feels within reach and the twinkling city lights far below will soothe your fatigue.
The ultimate privilege comes the next morning. While other climbers are trekking up in the cold darkness with headlamps on, you can wake up at your own pace and simply open the mountain hut door. Before your eyes unfolds a breathtaking sea of clouds and a divine sunrise. Enjoy the most luxurious morning on Mt. Fuji without the long, freezing wait outside.

Point 3: The Difference is the "True Summit"—Shortest Route to Japan's Highest Peak, Kengamine (3,776 m)

Group at Summit

The "finish line" of Mt. Fuji actually varies depending on the route you climb. The Fujinomiya Route is the closest to Kengamine Peak (3,776 m), the true highest point of Japan that most climbers aspire to reach.
While other routes require extra time to walk around the crater (Ohachi Meguri) to reach Kengamine, the Fujinomiya Route allows immediate access upon reaching the summit. You can stand at the very top of Japan via the shortest and most direct path.

※ Depending on severe weather, congestion, or participant health, the guide may decide to descend without visiting Kengamine Peak. We appreciate your understanding that safety comes first.

Point 4: Fully Guided Climb! Hot Spring Stop After Descent (Bathing Fee Paid Individually)

Small Group Tour

During the climb, a professional guide who knows the Fujinomiya Route inside and out will manage the pace and lead you safely. After descending, we will stop at a hot spring facility. Since the bathing fee is not included in the tour price, you can spend your time freely according to your mood—whether refreshing yourself in the hot spring, enjoying meals or beer, or shopping for souvenirs.

※ Bathing fees, food, and drinks are paid individually. ※ The hot spring stop may be shortened or omitted depending on traffic conditions.

Point 5: Popular Mt. Fuji Gear Rental Sets from Trusted Partner "Yamarent"

Even in midsummer, temperatures near Mt. Fuji's summit drop close to freezing. A common misconception among beginners is that "a down jacket alone is enough for warmth." However, down jackets can trap sweat and cause chills, making them unsuitable for wearing while hiking. For your safety, this tour recommends the Complete 7-Piece Set (¥9,000), which includes a fleece jacket. For those concerned about physical endurance, we also offer the Full Support 12-Piece Set (¥16,000). Complete with trekking pants, performance tights, and knee supporters designed for hiking to reduce strain on your legs, proper gear will strongly support your summit success.
