[Mountain hut reservation available] Head to Japan's highest peak, Kengamine, via the shortest route in Fujinomiya! 2-day Mt. Fuji Climbing Tour with a guide (departing Shinjuku at 7:30 AM)
This Tour is For You If...
- Want to reach the summit while conserving energy on the shortest route
- Want to choose a mountain hut that suits your style
- Want to depart from Shinjuku
Point 1: Why the Fujinomiya Route for Beginners? The Answer Is Its Unmatched Short Distance

The reason Yamatrip strongly recommends this route for beginners is simple: it has the shortest round-trip distance of all routes. At just about 8.6km round trip (under 10km even including Kengamine), this short distance is the greatest advantage in the physically demanding challenge of climbing Mt. Fuji.
While some say the route is steep, compared to routes with long, gradual inclines, you gain altitude quickly over a short distance, which actually conserves more energy overall. The route follows a single path up and down, and our guide expertly manages pacing and passing on narrow sections, so even rocky terrain feels safe. On clear days, the stunning view of Suruga Bay spread out below will make you forget your fatigue.
Point 2: Which Will You Choose? "Japan’s Highest Summit Stay" or the "Smart Strategy 9.5th Station Stay"
The key feature of this tour is the choice between two mountain huts that give you the best advantage for your summit attempt. Whichever you choose, a unique experience awaits.
■ [Recommended] Munatsuki Sanso (9.5th Station): The Shortest & Smartest Route to Summit Success
"Climb as high as possible on Day 1" is the proven strategy for summit success, and this plan makes it the easiest to achieve.
For example, reaching the "8th Station" on the Yoshida Route requires walking about 5.2km, but on the shortest Fujinomiya Route, you can reach the 9.5th Station (3,590m)—just below the summit—by walking only about 3.8km.
"Shorter distance to a higher elevation." This overwhelming advantage means you wake up the next morning with only 500m left to the summit. You can attempt the peak with energy to spare—the ultimate shortcut to success.
【Exclusive Views & Souvenirs】
From the hut, enjoy a sweeping panorama from Hakone and the Izu Peninsula to Enoshima and the Boso Peninsula. At night, witness a spectacular illuminated cityscape below, sea of clouds, shadow of Fuji, and a sky full of stars. Plus, the branding stamp here is the only one on Mt. Fuji that includes the exact date of your climb (available until 5 PM). A walking stick stamped with your summit date becomes a lifelong keepsake.
■ Chojo Fujikan (Summit): Open the Door to Sunrise! A Premium Night at Japan’s Highest Point
Only those who choose to stay at the summit get to experience this extraordinary time. At 3,712m, you spend the night at the closest point to the sky in Japan. At night, a breathtaking starry sky seems close enough to touch, while the city lights spread far below soothe your tired body.
And the greatest privilege comes the next morning. While other climbers trudge upward in the cold darkness with headlamps, you simply wake up at a leisurely pace and open the door of the mountain hut. Before your eyes: a sea of clouds and a glorious sunrise. Enjoy the most luxurious morning, free from the cold and discomfort of waiting for sunrise outside.
Point 3: The Difference Is "The True Summit." Shortest Access to Kengamine (3,776m), Japan’s Highest Peak

The goal of climbing Mt. Fuji actually differs depending on which route you take. Kengamine (3,776m)—Japan’s true highest point—is closest from the Fujinomiya Route.
Other routes require extra time circling the crater rim, but from the Fujinomiya Route summit, you can access Kengamine immediately. Stand on the "top of Japan" via the shortest, most direct path.
*In cases of severe weather, crowding, or health concerns, the guide may decide to descend without visiting Kengamine. Thank you for understanding our safety-first policy.
Point 4: Full Guide Accompaniment! Hot Spring Stop After Descending (bathing fee paid separately)

During the climb, a professional guide who knows the Fujinomiya Route inside and out will manage pacing and lead you safely. After descending, we stop at a hot spring facility. The bathing fee is not included in the tour price, so feel free to enjoy the hot spring, grab a meal or a beer, or browse souvenirs—however you like.
*Bathing and food/drink fees are paid individually. *Due to traffic conditions, the hot spring stop may be shortened or omitted.
Point 5: Trusted "Yamarent" – Popular Mt. Fuji Climbing Rental Sets
Even in midsummer, temperatures near the summit of Mt. Fuji can drop to near freezing. For safety, we recommend the "7-Piece Set" (¥9,000) which includes a warm fleece. For those concerned about stamina, we also offer the "12-Piece Set" (¥14,000) with trekking pants, performance tights, and knee supporters to reduce leg strain and give you extra support for reaching the summit.
